BlessBack Business Academy's 2025 Year-In-Review & 2026 Strategic Vision Report
Since 2015, BlessBack has transitioned from a single-country pilot program to a platform-centric global movement. We are expanding from localized aid to a repeatable, scalable infrastructure for economic discipleship, empowering an unlimited number of localities to replicate the pilot program's success. By actively closing the "discipleship gap," we are enabling educational beneficiaries to become agents of their own renewal.
The most effective path for this expansion is through strategic collaborations with established church or ministry networks, especially since the educational materials are themselves rooted in biblical principles. This "church-anchored" model leverages existing infrastructure to create immediate impact while ensuring long-term sustainability. We invite partners and church leaders to participate in joint training sessions, resource sharing, and advocacy efforts, which are essential to scaling this approach. Research cited by the Barna Group in 2025 underscores the necessity of this approach: while small-business owners are often trusted twice as much as churches in their communities, 70% of adults believe that alliances between pastors and entrepreneurs are the key to solving social problems. Despite this potential, a significant gap remains. Data shows that less than two in five (39%) of pastors feel equipped to provide entrepreneurs counseling specifically related to work-life balance and career decisions, and 62% of Christian business owners lack a clear framework for integrating their faith into their operations. The Academy is closing this gap by equipping local leaders through our Kingdom Builder curriculum to mentor entrepreneurs directly within their congregations.
The success of this strategy is evident in Nicaragua, where a formal alliance with the Assemblies of God has given a network of over 1,300 churches the potential to become active centers for economic renewal through our trade schools, business classes, and Kingdom Builder cohorts, with several already implementing successful programs and many more desiring to do so.

Graduating Class in Nicaragua (December 2025)
For BlessBack, a "ground-level diagnosis" is a theological and strategic prerequisite for intervention. We believe effective renewal requires an empirical understanding of structural vulnerabilities. Our regions are rich in cultural identity and entrepreneurial will, yet structural barriers often stifle this potential. We do not see "trapped families"; we see blocked entrepreneurs hungry for agency.
Our student survey revealed that 73% earn less than $275/month, which is significantly lower than the $548/month basic requirement—national poverty rate: 39.5%.
Yet 90% of our students show entrepreneurial ambition. The gap is not capability; it is opportunity and education. Our intervention bridges this gap, harnessing resilience to break the cycle.
Our August 2025 market survey of 61 business owners in Luperón, conducted by a team from Moments of Hope Church (Charlotte, NC) and our ministry partner Mission of Hope International (MOHI) highlighted the critical challenges faced by micro-enterprises: 42% of businesses reported annual revenues below RD$250k (US$4.2k), and none exceeded RD$8M (US$133k) (the micro-enterprise threshold). 67% had zero credit access in 2 years. 75% cite electricity as the fastest-growing expense. 58% operate informally, blocking formal market access. Over 90% of the business owners desire business training.
A critical diagnostic finding is the "Talent Pipeline Leak" affecting youth. Thousands of teenagers graduate from high school without clear guidance on careers or finances, leading to immediate stagnation. We have specifically designed the Transformation Academy as a strategic solution to this leak, offering a faith-based launchpad for at-risk youth. These data points act as our "Laboratory of Ideas," guiding the program structure needed to bridge these gaps.

A faith-based model in which technical excellence combines with spiritual stewardship, turning the marketplace into a platform for community renewal.
The KBA is our flagship initiative to close the "discipleship gap" between the pulpit and the marketplace. This 16-week program equips entrepreneurs to see their businesses as acts of worship and stewardship. Our strategic partnership with the Assemblies of God acts as a multiplier, transforming a network of over 1,300 churches in Nicaragua into centers of economic renewal and equipping pastors to mentor business owners.
Targeting at-risk youth aged 16–20 and developed in collaboration with Pneuma Gives (Bolivia), the TA focuses on mindset renewal based on Romans 12:2. The program addresses the lack of future- planning resources through the "My Life & Career Blueprint" capstone project—a personalized roadmap that protects youth from underemployment and the development of debt.
Barbering, Hairdressing, Sewing, Cooking, and Computer programs blend advanced technical skills with business education. These programs help students calculate margins and set fair prices, transforming their work from a mere survival tactic into a legitimate professional business.

In 2026, the focus enlarges from "Renewal" to "Expansion." Goal: continue the move to platform-centric replicability with boots-on-the-ground expansion. Nicaragua remains the flagship country for piloting new programs and expanding trade schools.
Since initiating our partnership with the Assemblies of God Church in 2025, we expanded from 1 trade school at our headquarters at Bethel Church in Masatepe, to 2 additional AG churches. In March 2026, 5 locations will have trade schools: Masatepe (Bethel Church), Managua (Comunidad VIDA Church), Masaya (First Baptist Church), Masaya (John 3:16 Church), and El Crucero (Casa Adona Church), providing accessibility to their local populations regardless of church membership.
